WKCD Art Pavilion
The aims of developing West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) are to integrate different facilities with art and culture sustainably. The Art Pavilion design of our team aims to provide a small exhibition venue to support the arts and cultural activities. The Art Pavilion is located in between M+, the museum of WKCD and the waterfront promenade. Instead of providing a small exhibition space, the Art Pavilion can provide a public space for visitors to enjoy the great view of Victoria Harbor. In this design, our team propose an Art Pavilion that is connected to the outdoor area by extending the pavilion to the roof by a grand ramp stair. The ramp stair can be a public space with multiple usages. For example, when there any event in WKCD, it can transform into an outdoor theatre. And a waterfront café will be incorporated in the Art Pavilion for visitors to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of WKCD with a nice harbour view of Hong Kong.
