DYS/UTOPIA is a 3D scan object based project. These three scenes describe an isolated floating city with abandoned old city fabric. The first scene showing a floating walled city which contains a lot of typical type of Hong Kong public housing. These old part of the city is being exiled from the original city and discard to a place that has no connection within.
The second scene described the people in this walled old city trying to find their way out. The camera angle using a medium shot looking up at the sky that framed by the walled city to create the mass of the city. From the colour between scenes 1 to 2, it shows the sun is going down, it’s to create a feeling that people in this city feel hopeless and try to find the way out. The shadow and the perspective of the scene create the visual element that points to the sun and human in the middle.
The last scene shows that after tracing for the hope in the city, the only relief is the religion. Which is represented by the dark old temple. The third scene uses a similar colour tone with the second scene but darker lighting to enhance the hopeless feel for the human. All the light was blocked by the temple to create the no way out feeling. The lighting between the first scene to the second scene has a big contrast to show the hopeless feeling when you get into the walled city.
